Our Story
Casa Defrà (the house of brothers) has been delivering for 4 generations great quality venetian wines.
Today we enlarged our family to more than 2.000 vine-growers of our territory to have a better control over the quality and to create more fair value along the supply chain.
We bring our wines all over the world.
Our Territory
Our original territory stretches south of Vicenza town, surrounded by gentle hills, towards the borders with the neighboring provinces of Padua and Verona. Fields and woods alternate with olive groves and vineyards, in a succession of valleys, hills, small plateaus, streams and canals.
Our high-quality project for sustainability
For over 40 years our vinegrowers are committed to sustainable viticulture with our best practices:
– Soil analysis and assessment of the nutritional needs of each vine to limit fertilizer and adopt, where possible, the grassing.
– Guided defense of the vineyards through field checks and evaluation of the weather forecast, in order to plan only the necessary treatments and thus limiting the environmental impact.
– Use of the “Quaderno di Campagna” (Country Notebook) to record all treatments carried out: this helps to better assess their effectiveness and to avoid mistakes.
– Installation of water purification and solar panels in the vinification cellars.
